Introduction to the Verăo na ULisboa Program

The Verăo na ULisboa program is an initiative by the University of Lisbon that offers a unique opportunity for secondary school students and those in the 3rd cycle of basic education to experience the rhythm and spirit of academic life.

Program Description

During a week, each school of the University of Lisbon provides a comprehensive plan of activities, including experiments, games, visits, and workshops, to showcase the basic knowledge, practical tasks, and working methods of the courses taught at the university. Participants can engage in various scientific, recreational, and sports activities, allowing them to be a part of different professions such as veterinarians, dentists, artists, architects, lawyers, writers, designers, scientists, trainers, geographers, historians, pharmacists, biologists, researchers, agronomists, geologists, physicists, economists, managers, and engineers.

Eligibility and Participation

The program is directed at students who will attend the 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grades or those who are completing the 12th grade in the current academic year. The program is divided into two weeks, with multiple programs offering a range of activities. Students who will attend the 11th and 12th grades or complete the 12th grade participate in the first week, while those attending the 8th, 9th, and 10th grades participate in the second week.

Program Structure

In each school, a team of professors prepares a comprehensive plan of activities to introduce participants to the basic knowledge, working methods, and practical tasks related to the courses taught at the University of Lisbon. Daily, participants are accompanied by monitors (also university students) who help resolve challenges, answer questions, and introduce the university's facilities, showcasing university life.

Participation Fee

The participation fee for the Verăo na ULisboa program is 120 (excluding VAT), paid at the time of registration. Children of University of Lisbon employees receive a discount and pay 85.
