About Program
Program Overview
Introduction to the Portuguese Language Course
The Portuguese Language Course is organized by the Faculty of Letters since 1934. Over 40,000 students from around the world have attended these courses.
Course Structure
The course is divided into two semesters, each with 200 hours of classes, corresponding to 12 hours of classes per week, distributed over 14 weeks, and a total of 32 hours of immersion activities.
First Semester
- Dates: October 6, 2025, to January 28, 2026
- Applications: May 1, 2025, to September 12, 2025
- Christmas Holidays: December 22, 2025, to January 2, 2026
Second Semester
- Dates: February 9, 2026, to May 29, 2026
- Applications: May 1, 2025, to January 16, 2026
- Easter Holidays: March 30, 2026, to April 3, 2026
Available Schedules
Students can choose from the following schedules:
- Morning: 8:00 AM - 12:30 PM (possibly until 2:00 PM on some days)
- Afternoon: 2:00 PM - 6:30 PM
Tuition Fee
The tuition fee is 1280 per semester.
Admission Requirements
- Age: 17 years or older
- Knowledge of the Latin alphabet

Evaluation and Certification
- Students with a positive evaluation receive a certificate mentioning their grade and level of proficiency.
- The certificate is free, but subsequent requests incur a fee:
- 2nd copy: 5
- 3rd copy or subsequent: 20/document
Declaration of Enrollment or Attendance
- The secretariat can issue a declaration proving the student's enrollment or attendance.
- Fees apply for subsequent requests:
- 1st copy: free
- 2nd copy: 5
- 3rd copy or subsequent: 20
Scholarships
- Scholarship applications should be directed to the Instituto Cam髊s.
Cancellations and Refunds
- If the course is canceled by the ICLP, the student will receive a full refund.
- In case of student withdrawal, the amount paid at the time of registration is non-refundable.
- If the student has paid the full tuition fee at the time of registration, the amount that was not yet due will be refunded.
- Transfer of registration to another course period is possible with a minimum of 15 days' notice before the start of the course and provided it is within the same academic year.
- In the case of a transfer request, 50% of the registration fee will be retained, and the remaining amount will be considered part of the registration fee for the new course. The student must complete the payment required for the new registration for the transfer to be valid. After a course transfer, the total registration fee will not be refunded under any circumstances.
