Program Overview


Course Overview

The Course of Specialized Training "Professional Inclusion of People with Disabilities" is organized by the Institute of Training and Consulting (ISCSP-IFOR), an organic unit of ISCSP. This course aims to develop knowledge and skills in specific areas, increasing the valorization of various professional activities and Curriculum Vitae.

Objectives

The course aims to develop competencies that facilitate the inclusion and retention of people with disabilities in public, private, and non-profit entities, promoting their employability. Specific objectives include:


  • Promoting an understanding of disability based on the social and human rights model and its relevance to employment policies.
  • Providing context on the situation of people with disabilities in the workforce and employment in Portugal, and conveying relevant information on available national support measures for professional integration.
  • Capacitating for the hiring of people with disabilities, providing information on competencies and benefits of their professional inclusion, and offering practical tools and strategies for managing the careers of professionals with disabilities.

Target Audience

Professionals from the public, private, and non-profit sectors, including top, middle, and line managers directly involved in recruitment, selection, and career management functions.


Curriculum Plan

The total curriculum consists of 36 contact hours, divided into the following units:


  • Models of Approach to Disability and Public Policies (6 hours)
  • Disability in Organizational Culture and Practices (6 hours)
  • Legal and Political Framework on Employment and Disability: National and International Perspectives (6 hours)
  • Professional Integration Process and Management of Interpersonal Relations in the Context of Work with People with Disabilities (6 hours)
  • Best Practices in Hiring and Accompanying People with Disabilities in the Work Context (6 hours)
  • Disability Organizations in the National Context: Strategic Partnerships (3 hours)
  • Project/Elaboration of an Inclusion Plan (3 hours)

  • Time of work includes classes, autonomous study, tutoring, and complementary readings.
