Introduction to the Baylor Medicine-Pediatrics Residency Program
The Baylor Medicine-Pediatrics Residency Program is a four-year residency with a twelve-month internship aimed at providing each resident physician with the resources and skills necessary to become confident in the diagnosis and management of both adult and pediatric disease. Our program is fully-accredited and meets all the recommendations for combined training required by the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Pediatrics.
Program Overview
Our combined program offers unparalleled clinical training at one of the nation's largest academic medical centers. Residents rotate through five major hospitals as well as our combined medicine-pediatrics continuity clinic, providing invaluable exposure to a wide variety of patients and their cultures and illnesses. Through our program, residents gain the unique opportunity to work in private healthcare, MD Anderson Cancer Center, a Veterans Affairs hospital, our county healthcare system, and Texas Children's Hospital.
Clinical Training
Residents gain breadth and depth in general medicine and pediatrics as well as across numerous subspecialty fields. The program specifically looks for a class of applicants to help take care of an underserved patient population in one of the most diverse cities in the country.
