Introduction to the Master Program of Landscape Instructed in English

The Master Program of Landscape Instructed in English is a professional degree program offered by the School of Architecture at Southeast University. Duration and Credit Requirements

The program typically lasts for 3 years, with a maximum duration of 4 years. The minimum total credit requirement is 27 credits, including 18 credits for compulsory courses. Students must also complete a landscape practice component and participate in academic activities.


Mentorship System

The program adopts a "dual-mentor" system, consisting of both on-campus and enterprise mentors. The on-campus mentor takes the lead in guidance, while the enterprise mentor participates in the guidance of enterprise practice-oriented courses, the selection of dissertation topics, and the defense process.


Professional Practice (Enterprise Internship)

Students must complete an enterprise internship of no less than six months, which can be guided by either on-campus or enterprise mentors. The internship aims to provide students with practical experience in landscape architecture and related fields.


Participation in Academic Activities

Students must participate in at least two academic seminars or attend one academic conference, and write a literature review based on at least 50 pieces of literature.


Thesis Proposal and Mid-term Assessment

Students must commence their degree thesis work after completing the required course credits and submit a thesis proposal. The mid-term assessment is conducted in accordance with the university's regulations.


Professional Degree Dissertation

The master's dissertation serves as a crucial basis for degree evaluation and should demonstrate the student's ability to comprehensively apply scientific theories, methods, and techniques to solve practical problems. The dissertation can be either planning and design-oriented or thematic research-oriented.


Defense

Students must earn the required credits, complete all training components and degree dissertation work, and pass the blind review and plagiarism checks before participating in the thesis defense. The defense is organized uniformly by the department and takes place within the specified time frame.


Approval for Academic Program

The program is approved by the relevant authorities, and the degree is conferred upon completion of all requirements and approval by the university's degree evaluation committee.
