Program Overview


The Master's Programme in Business Administration

The Master's in Business Administration at the University of M𤦂ster prepares students for a successful career in many professional fields, including banking and finance, human resource management, consulting, auditing, online-marketing, logistics, or even for an academic career.

Programme Structure

The programme consists of four major subjects: Accounting, Finance, Management, and Marketing. In addition to the major, students choose a minor subject, which accounts for one-fifth of the programme. The programme also offers the opportunity to study abroad in one of the university's 125 partner universities.


  • The programme starts in the winter semester.
  • The degree awarded is a Master of Science (M.Sc.).
  • The programme structure includes:
    • 96 credit points in the major subject.
    • 24 credit points in the minor subject.
    • In-depth courses in the third semester.
    • A Master's thesis in the final semester.

Minor Accounting

The Accounting Center M𤦂ster (ACM) provides students with in-depth practical and theoretical knowledge in areas such as business taxation, controlling, international corporate accounting, financial reporting, and auditing.


Minor Finance

The Finance Center M𤦂ster offers a top-rate, scientifically informed, and internationally oriented professional qualification, introducing students to current theoretical, experimental, and empirical finance market research and its practical application.


Minor Management

Students minoring in management are taught the theoretical and practical content of strategic business management, personnel management, and corporate structural design, with a strong focus on praxis-oriented knowledge.


Minor Marketing

The Marketing Center M𤦂ster (MCM) adheres to the concept of market-oriented corporate management, providing students with theoretically substantiated and practice-relevant content in areas such as brand management, entertainment and media management, customer relationship management, sales management, and innovation management.


Minor Economics

As a minor subject, Economics can be studied in conjunction with any of the four approved major subjects, allowing students to select modules from the Master's degree course in economics.


Minor Information Systems

As a minor subject, Information Systems can be studied in conjunction with any of the four approved major subjects, providing students with the opportunity to select modules from the master's degree course in information systems.


Minor Business Research

The minor Business Research serves to equip students with knowledge of state-of-the-art scientific methods and theories, preparing them for a science-related professional activity or for a possible later doctorate.


Minor Entrepreneurship

The lectures and seminars in the minor Entrepreneurship deal with various topics related to entrepreneurship, including start-up management, business model development, innovation, and technology management.
