Program Overview


Teaching Degree Programme in Special Education

The teaching degree programme in Special Education requires students to study five subjects from the following list:


Compulsory Subjects:

  • Schwerpunkt 1: Sonderp‰dagogik und inklusive Bildung
  • Schwerpunkt 2: Diagnostik und individuelle Fˆrderung in der inklusiven Schule

Optional Subjects:

  • (non-restricted)
  • (if not already chosen as a compulsory subject)
  • Evangelische Religionslehre (non-restricted)
  • Islamische Religionslehre (non-restricted)
  • Katholische Religionslehre (non-restricted)
  • (if not already chosen as a compulsory subject, non-restricted)
  • (non-restricted and aptitude test required)
  • (non-restricted)
  • Praktische Philosophie (non-restricted)
  • (non-restricted and aptitude test required)

The subject is a mandatory subject in all teaching degree programmes. Consequently, all teaching degree students are required to take irrespective of the combination of their chosen subjects or school form.


Programme Structure

Students are required to choose their first freely selectable subject in the application portal, after which they will be directed to choose their second subject. After confirming their selection of their two optional subjects, the compulsory subjects will be added automatically.
