Program Overview


Introduction to the Master's Program in Music and Creativity

The Master's program in Music and Creativity is a musically and practically oriented program that provides students with advanced musical and artistic competencies. The program teaches knowledge, skills, and methods that enable graduates to work independently at the highest level, specialize in specific areas, and contribute to the development of music in a creative and systematic way.


Program Structure and Duration

The standard period of study for the Master's program in Music and Creativity is four semesters. Academics can take advantage of additional offers from the music college beyond the curriculum of the Master's program. These offers may include:


  • Probespieltraining and Orchesterstudien: Academics can register for the "Orchesterstudien" course, where they analyze and practice relevant works and passages of orchestral literature in their respective instrument groups.
  • Kammermusik: With members of the M³nster Symphony Orchestra and specialists from the music college, academics can train in small ensembles to meet the various demands of ensemble playing.
  • Orchesterprojekte: Orchester academics participate in concerts of the college orchestra and play up to 15 services per month in concerts and opera productions at the M³nster Symphony Orchestra.

Location and Facilities

The Master's program and academy phase are completed in M³nster at the music college and in the buildings of the Theater M³nster, both of which are located in the city center and can be reached via short routes.
