International Graduate School BACCARA - Battery Chemistry, Characterization, Analysis, Recycling and Application
Program Overview
International Graduate School BACCARA
The International Graduate School BACCARA is a scientific institution at the University of Münster, focusing on "Battery Chemistry, Characterization, Analysis, Recycling and Application".
Description
A distinct feature of the International Graduate School is the synergetic combination of basic and applied research motivating and preparing young scientists for future careers in science and industry in a unique and ambitious way.
Research Areas
The school is involved in various research areas, including the development of lithium/manganese-rich layered oxide cathodes. A team from the MEET Battery Research Center at the University of Münster, in cooperation with international partners from industry and academia, has developed a framework for a more systematic research and development of lithium/manganese-rich layered oxide (LMR) cathodes.
Funding
The Graduate School receives millions in funding, with five million euros from the Ministry for Culture and Science of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia, to continue training specialists in battery research over the next five years.
Awards
Ibrahim Lawan Abdullahi was awarded a poster prize at the BACCARA Power Day for his poster "Lithium Squarate as Sacrificing Electrolyte Additive for Prelithiation: Case Study in Zero-Excess Lithium Metal Batteries".
Location
The International Graduate School BACCARA is located at the University of Münster, with addresses at Wilhelm-Schickard-Str. 8 and Corrensstraße 40, 48149 Münster.
