About Program
Program Overview
Introduction to the University Program
The university program in question is focused on the formation of professionals utilizing live animals for scientific purposes, with an emphasis on regulatory requirements and ethical considerations.
Objectives
- The general objective of the formation is to provide personnel with the necessary knowledge and skills to conceive and implement projects involving live animals for scientific research, in compliance with European and French regulations.
- Operational objectives include understanding European and French regulations concerning the use of live animals for scientific purposes and being capable of designing research projects that incorporate such use.
Competences
The program aims to equip participants with the ability to:
- Conceive research projects involving the use of live animals for scientific purposes.
- Become responsible for the operational implementation of research projects that include the use of live animals.
Public and Prerequisites
- Target Audience: Individuals who are to direct research projects involving experimentation on live animals, such as researchers, doctoral students, and engineers.
- Prerequisites: A master's degree (M2, bac+5) or equivalent, as recognized through Validation of Acquired Experience (VAE/VAP).
Program Structure
- Base Module: 4 consecutive days, 27 hours of training, covering regulatory aspects, ethical principles, and basic biology comparative to species.
- Specific Modules: 5 consecutive days, 32 hours of training, focusing on either "Rodents and Lagomorphs" or "Aquatic Species," including theoretical and practical elements on experimental procedures, biology, and welfare of the specific species group.
Methods and Pedagogical Means
- Theoretical and practical courses.
- Learning through concrete case studies.
- Pedagogical supports, bibliography, documentation, and diaporamas.
- Course support documents in PDF format.
Evaluation and Validation
- Evaluation through QCM at the end of each module.
- Validation of both modules is necessary to receive the training validation certificate.
- Validation Includes:
- Attendance certificate.
- End of training certificate (after evaluation validation).
Program Details
- Duration: 59 hours.
- Schedule: Over 9 consecutive days.
- Location: Campus Pierre and Marie Curie Paris (Jussieu).
- Fee: Refer to the tariff grid.
- Modalities: Face-to-face.
- Minimum and Maximum Participants: 20 to 80.
Instructors
