Program Overview
Formation aux Premiers Secours
The Student Health Service (SSE) offers a first aid training program in partnership with the French Red Cross. This program aims to teach students the essential gestures that can save lives.
Program Description
The program is divided into eight modules, covering various accident situations, including:
- Protection
- Alert
- Choking
- Severe bleeding
- Unconsciousness
- Cardiac arrest
- Malaise
- Trauma (wounds, burns, bone and joint injuries)
Initiation to Risk Reduction
The program also includes an initiation to risk reduction (IRR) module, which aims to raise awareness about individual and collective vulnerability to catastrophes. This module covers topics such as:
- Awareness of risks
- How to inform oneself about major risks
- How to alert emergency services
- How to react in case of an alert
- First aid gestures
- Family instructions
- Essential needs
- The "Catakit"
- Elaboration of a Family Autoprotection Plan, a concept developed by the French Red Cross and the European Union
Duration and Prerequisites
The training lasts 8 hours (7 hours of PSC 1 + 1 hour of IRR), divided into full-day, half-day, evening, or weekend sessions. There are no prerequisites for this training, and it is accessible to everyone from the age of 10. The training is based on learning and practicing first aid gestures through simulated accidents.
Accessibility
The SSE is open to students from other institutions. The training is simple and does not require physical training. Notes are not necessary during the training.
