Introduction to the University Program

The university program in question is the DIU maladies autoinflammatoires et amyloses inflammatoires, which translates to Autoinflammatory Diseases and Inflammatory Amyloidosis. This program is offered by the Faculty of Health at Sorbonne University.

Objectives

The objectives of this program are to:

• Comprehend what autoinflammatory diseases (MAI) are
• Know how to prescribe and interpret genetic analyses for MAI
• Understand how to treat MAI
• Be familiar with inflammatory amyloidosis (AA)
• Know how to diagnose and treat AA
• Understand resources related to MAI, such as reference centers, health pathways for rare diseases, and registries
• Accompany and educate patients with MAI

Target Audience and Prerequisites

The target audience includes:

• Medical and paramedical personnel (above bachelor's degree +3)
• Doctors of all specialties from internship onwards Prerequisites:
• Francophone public

Program Outline

The program covers various aspects, including:

• Basics of innate immunity
• Genetic and innate immunity in MAI
• Clinical aspects of monogenic and polygenic MAI
• Complications and treatment of MAI
• Revision of dermatological, digestive, rheumatological, and neurological manifestations of MAI
• Clinical cases

Methods and Pedagogical Tools

• Interactive video conferences on Zoom one Friday afternoon per month for 8 months
• One intensive in-person session (which can be converted to a Zoom video conference if the health situation requires it or for foreign students)
• Interactive case studies and QCM using the "Mentimeter" software
• References will be recommended, and supports (PPT or documents) will be transmitted if the speakers authorize it

Volume of Training and Number of Places

• Total training hours: 43 hours, plus personal work and a 4-hour knowledge assessment
• Number of places offered: 30

Control of Knowledge

• Continuous control with 3 written tests by QCM online
• Conditions for admission: attendance at courses and TP plus overall average of all tests
• No carryover of grades from one session to another
