Program Overview

Introduction to the Parcours International DIGIT

The Parcours International DIGIT is a master's program designed for international students who wish to pursue a degree in computer science with a focus on networks and image processing. This program is exclusively accessible to non-French-speaking students, and French-speaking students must apply to similar specializations with a broader offer in the corresponding French program.

Program Structure

Each student enrolled in the DIGIT program will have the opportunity to design their own curriculum by selecting a coherent subset of teaching units (UE) from the courses offered in English. The program mainly guarantees the possibility of following the specializations in Networks and Image Processing, but it can also exceptionally accommodate other areas of specialization through projects undertaken during the first three semesters.

Specializations

The program offers two main specializations:

  • Network specialization: This specialization includes compulsory and elective courses in computer networking, signal and communication, cloud computing, and more.
  • Image processing specialization: This specialization includes compulsory and elective courses in fundamentals of image processing, introduction to computer graphics, and more.

Courses

The program includes a wide range of courses, including:

  • Algorithms and Applications: This course covers the theory and application of algorithms in various fields.
  • Processor Architecture: This course focuses on processor architecture and optimizations.
  • Computer Networking: This course covers the core network applications and protocols.
  • DatA science, Learning and ApplicationS: This course presents the data science steps, including acquiring and processing data, extracting information, and training and evaluating machine learning models.
  • Cloud Computing: This course introduces cloud computing principles, architectures, and applications.
  • Introduction to Computer Graphics: This course introduces the domain of 3D computer graphics, including geometric modeling and processing, image synthesis, and more.

Admission Criteria

To be eligible for the program, students must:

  • Hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Information Systems with honors.
  • Have competence in mathematics, theoretical foundations of computer science, algorithms, and computer architectures.

Tuition Fees

The tuition fees for the academic year 2021/22 are:

  • For French and European students: 243 per year.
  • For non-EU students: 3,770 per year.
  • Exemptions: Students who come to study in France as part of a partnership agreement between universities, students who have been awarded a French government grant, and students who have been awarded a grant from their host institution.

Application Procedure

The application procedure varies depending on the student's nationality and residence:

  • European students: Apply from April to June on the Sorbonne University eCandidat procedure.
  • Foreign students residing in one of the countries affected by the "Etudes en France" procedure: Apply on the website from October to December.

Research Areas

The program covers various research areas, including:

  • Networks: Computer networking, signal and communication, cloud computing, and more.
  • Image Processing: Fundamentals of image processing, introduction to computer graphics, and more.
  • Data Science: Data science steps, including acquiring and processing data, extracting information, and training and evaluating machine learning models.

Internship

The program includes a 5 to 6 month internship in the second year, which provides students with hands-on experience in their chosen field.

Conclusion

The Parcours International DIGIT is a comprehensive master's program that offers international students the opportunity to pursue a degree in computer science with a focus on networks and image processing. The program provides a wide range of courses, research areas, and internship opportunities, making it an ideal choice for students who wish to pursue a career in this field.
