Introduction to the University Program

The Faculty of Sciences and Engineering at Sorbonne Université offers a personalized study path for its students through a progressive orientation system throughout the three years of the license program. The first year of the license program is part of an integration cycle that revolves around 7 portals:

  • Mathématiques - Informatique
  • Electronique - Informatique
  • Sciences de l'ingénieur: Electronique - Mécanique
  • Mathématique - Physique - Mécanique
  • Physique - Chimie
  • Chimie - Sciences de la Terre - Mécanique
  • Sciences de la Vie - Chimie - Sciences de la Terre

Presentation of the First Year of License

Each of the L1 portals combines mathematics teachings and the learning of three disciplines in the first semester, then two main disciplines in the second semester, with the perspective of a progressive orientation towards one of the eight license mentions of the faculty.

The Faculty of Sciences and Engineering offers a device reserved for baccalaureate holders from general or technological fields: the consolidation year, which provides the necessary scientific deepening and upgrading before starting the first year of the license.

The integration cycle also welcomes first-year students from:

  • double courses and double licenses
  • the bi-disciplinary license Sciences and Chinese
  • the Master Engineering Curriculum
  • the Monodisciplinary Intensive Physics SPRINT Course

Portals

The portals offered in the first year of the license program include:
