MASTER LLCER Etudes Slaves: Langues, Litteratures et Civilisations d'Europe Centrale
The MASTER LLCER Etudes Slaves: Langues, Litteratures et Civilisations d'Europe Centrale is a master's program that focuses on the study of languages, literatures, and civilizations of Central Europe, including German, BCMS, Hungarian, Polish, Russian, Czech, and Yiddish.
Presentation
This program is designed for students who want to study two languages and two cultures, as well as the entire zone of extended Europe, from Germany to Russia. The program is based on a team of young and dynamic teachers and cooperation between the UFR of Germanic studies and the UFR of Slavic studies.
Objectives and Competences
The program aims to provide students with:
- Specific knowledge of cultures and civilizations (history, literature, cinema, politics) of the corresponding area and interculturality
- Knowledge of the historical, political, social, economic, literary, and artistic context of Central Europe
- Knowledge of the identity and cultural references of Central Europe
- Knowledge of multiculturalism and intercultural relations in this European area
- Linguistic knowledge (2 languages)
- Critical analysis and synthesis skills
- Ability to manage a linguistic and intercultural animation mission
- Ability to communicate in French and in the chosen language (German, Czech, Hungarian, Polish, Russian, etc.)
- Ability to choose a research object, construct an original problem, and produce results
Dimension Internationale
The program offers international mobility, with recommended language stays, especially semesters abroad in ERASMUS partner universities (Berlin, Vienna, Munich, and many German universities, Prague, Warsaw, Krakow, Budapest, Sarajevo, Bratislava) and 4EU+ group universities (Paris, Heidelberg, Warsaw, Prague, Milan).

- Conditions d'admission: The prerequisite is a License in German, Slavic, or another field of letters, arts, history, including the study of at least one language from the area.

- Poursuite d'etudes: Possible at the Sorbonne or in another university, including research and doctorate in Etudes centre-europeennes.
- Poursuite d'etudes a l'etranger: Possible in fields such as teaching, translation, and interpretation, as well as in international organizations.
