Occupational Therapy Entry Level Master's (MSc)
The Occupational Therapy Entry Level Master's (MSc) program is a full-time, graduate-level program that equips students with the skills necessary to practice occupational therapy. As an occupational therapist, graduates will help people of all ages and backgrounds enhance their performance of everyday activities, such as work, school, leisure, and self-care.
Program Overview
Occupational therapy focuses on helping people overcome challenges due to injury, illness, or environmental barriers. Occupational therapists are trained to assist individuals in regaining or developing skills and abilities, enabling them to participate in daily activities.
Removing Obstacles
Occupational therapists address various barriers, including:
- Injuries
- Acute and chronic health conditions resulting in physical, cognitive, or mental health challenges
- Physical, social, and institutional barriers within the home, community, and workplace
Career Opportunities
As an occupational therapist, graduates can work in a variety of settings, including:
- Community and inpatient mental health centers
- Adult and child day-care centers
- Assistive technology programs
- Corrections facilities
- General and rehabilitation hospitals
- Return-to-work programs
Accredited Education
The MSc(OT) - Entry Level program is fully accredited by the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists (CAOT), on behalf of the World Federation of Occupational Therapists (WFOT). Graduates are eligible to write the CAOT national examination in either July or November.

Practicing Occupational Therapy in Canada
To practice occupational therapy in Canada, graduates must complete an MSc(OT) entry-to-practice degree program and pass the national certification exam. Additional criteria may apply, depending on the province of practice.
