Introduction to the M.Sc. Program

Admission Requirements

  • A B.Sc. (honours) or equivalent is normally required for admission.
  • Excellent B.Sc. graduates admitted to an M.Sc. program may be eligible to transfer to a Ph.D. program after their first year of study.

  • M.Sc. students are required to take ERTH 6300 (Research Skills) and ERTH 6353 (Quantitative Methods), as well as two other classes.
  • Students also conduct independent field- and/or laboratory-based research and write and defend a M.Sc. thesis.
