Supporting Documents
The Faculty of Agriculture requires all applicants to submit the following documents:
- Research Proposal: Applications must include a research proposal.
- Abstract of Honours thesis or undergraduate research project: Include a copy of the abstract from the honours or undergraduate research project.
- Transcript: Applicants should hold a four-year bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in any discipline from an institution recognized by Dalhousie University with a minimum 3.0 on a 4.3 scale (B average) in the last two years (60 credits) of study.
- Letters of Recommendation: Applications must include two letters of recommendation.
- Resume / CV: Include an updated Curriculum Vitae that summarizes academic and professional achievements.
Program and Course Details
MSc students have a minimum requirement of four graduate-level courses (3.0 credit hours each), including the required AGRI5700 Communications Skills and Graduate Seminar.
- Required Courses: Every student MUST register for the following courses every semester:
- AGRI 9000 Master's Thesis
- REGN 9999 Registration Course
- Admission to Candidacy: Admission to Candidacy (ATC) is an opportunity for you to present your proposed research to a supervisory committee and receive feedback within the first six months of your degree.
- Thesis Requirement: Before graduating, you'll prepare and defend your research thesis.
- Teaching Assistant Requirement: All MSc students must complete a teaching assistantship in at least one half-credit course.
- Research Day: All MSc students must present at a Faculty of Agriculture Research Day.
