Why Choose This Program
Dalhousie's periodontics program involves a variety of clinical experiences to help students gain competence in the management of periodontal diseases and mucogingival defects, temporomandibular joint disorders (TMD), dental implant therapy, and conscious sedation. Completion of a research thesis is also a requirement for this degree.

The program is accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation of Canada.
Careers
Upon graduation, students will meet the requirements for certification and licensure as a dental specialist in periodontics in Canada and the United States and be qualified for academic educational positions. They will also be eligible to sit fellowship exams for the Royal College of Dentists of Canada and the American Board of Periodontology Diplomate.
