Education

Simulation Education

The Department delivers an active simulation program, engaging residents in simulation throughout their years in both formative and summative experiences. Residents practice high acuity low occurrence events in a safe environment and attend multiple skills sessions on task trainers and at times use the cadaver lab.

• The residents have become teachers and use simulation to enhance the medical student learners' elective experience.
  • Simulation is used in multiple interprofessional settings to create collaborative working environments with the intent to improve knowledge and patient care.
• Staff sessions have also been offered, utilizing:
  • High and low fidelity simulation labs
  • Surgical skills center
  • Cadaver lab
  • Multiple task trainers for specific needs
  • In-situ opportunities

Leadership

The Medical Director of Simulation is Dr. Cathy Delbridge.

Dalhousie University is located in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. There is also a campus in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada.
