BEDS Work Term Requirements

The BEDS work term requirements are as follows:


  • Submit a signed BEDS co-op agreement to the Co-op Office.
  • Register for ARCH 8892 in the fall term.
  • Download and read the ARCH 8892 course outline.
  • Begin the job search by referring to job postings, and check other sources, especially for specific locations.

Before the Work Term

The following steps must be taken before the work term:


  1. Submit a signed BEDS co-op agreement.
  2. Register for ARCH 8892.
  3. Download and read the ARCH 8892 course outline.
  4. Begin the job search.

During the Work Term

The following requirements must be met during the work term:


  1. Submit a Work Term Information - Architecture form to the Co-op Office within a week after obtaining a job.
  2. Complete at least 500 hours of approved work experience in no less than 12 weeks.
  3. Contact the Co-op Office with questions about the work placement.
  4. Submit work term assignments by the due dates in the course outline.
  5. Near the end of the work placement, download the Employer's Evaluation of an Architecture Student form, fill in the first page, and ask the supervisor to complete the rest of the form.

After the Work Term

The following steps must be taken after the work term:


  1. Submit the Employer's Evaluation of an Architecture Student form to the Co-op Office by the first day of the B5 term.
  2. Present the work term poster during the B5 Professional Practice module early in the winter term.
