Program Overview

Course Description

The course, Model-Based Systems Engineering and Systems Analysis, is 36 learning hours inclusive of 36 hours of live sessions. Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) starts with the evolution of system requirements, through to design, analysis, verification, and validation activities. In addition to MBSE, the use of systems engineering tools can contribute to product and project success. Key areas covered in this course include the model-based approach to design, systems engineering tools, and a roadmap toward a model-based enterprise.

Course Outline

  • Module 1: MBSE Introduction & Overview
  • Module 2: MBSE Foundations
  • Module 3: MBSE Architecture (Part 1)
  • Module 4: MBSE Architecture (Part 2)
  • Module 5: Systems Analysis
  • Module 6: Model Management & Governance
  • Module 7: Architecture Development using SysML Assignment & Key Takeaways

What You Will Learn

  • Understanding of the systems engineering model-based approach to design and construction, systems engineering tools, the Digital Twin, and a roadmap toward a model-based enterprise
  • How to identify and define objects, interfaces, states of system, and MBSE views
  • Understanding the value of model-based systems engineering
  • Skills to apply MBSE and systems engineering tools
  • Knowledge necessary to perform a baseline assessment of an organization's potential to leverage MBSE
