The course "Buzzing Budgets: Unpacking Beekeeping Costs in the Maritimes" is a one-day in-depth training workshop presented by the Atlantic Tech Transfer Team for Apiculture (ATTTA) and Extended Learning. This course is designed for new or aspiring beekeeping entrepreneurs, aiming to develop their beekeeping business with a solid financial strategy.
Course Objectives
The course focuses on the economic significance of the beekeeping and pollination sectors in the Maritime region, providing participants with the ABC's and 123's of financial management for beekeepers, and the cost of production for beekeeping.
Instructors
The course is led by experts in their respective areas of beekeeping business and the industry, including:
- Dr. Andrew Byers, lead of the Atlantic Tech Transfer Team for Apiculture, with an in-depth understanding of the beekeeping sector across the region.
- John Murray, with almost 40 years of experience in beekeeping and apiary management, specializing in business, research, and marketing.
- Bryce Cross, a local CPA and lecturer at Saint Mary's University, who worked on the team that created the Beekeeping Cost of Production tool.
