Program Overview
UO Excellence Scholarship
The UO Excellence Scholarship is awarded to nonresident first-year students with exceptional admissions applications and academic records. A limited number of recipients are selected based on the review of their admissions application and academic transcripts.
Award Information
- Residency: Nonresident
- Award Amount: $20,000/year
- 4 Year Amount: $80,000 The UO Excellence Scholarship can be combined with other UO scholarships, such as Duck Excellence and General University Scholarships, but not with the Stamps Scholarship, Summit Scholarship, or the Apex Scholarship. Recipients must enroll in the fall term of their first year and maintain enrollment in 12 UO credits per term.
Selection Criteria
A limited number of awards are available to the highest-achieving nonresident students, with selection based on the review of the admissions application and academic transcripts.
Scholarship Renewal
To renew the scholarship, recipients must maintain a 3.00 cumulative UO GPA and complete 12 UO credits per term (36 UO credits per year). The UO Excellence Scholarships are renewable for up to 12 academic terms (excluding summer) within a five-year period, or 15 academic terms within a six-year period for students seeking a BLA, BIARC, or BARCH degree. Unused terms are forfeited if the student graduates early.
Award Notification
Recipients of the UO Excellence Scholarship will be notified by April 1.
Eligibility and Requirements
To be considered for the UO Excellence Scholarship, nonresident first-year students must apply for admission by January 15 and submit all required admission application materials to the Office of Admissions by February 15.
