Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency Program
The Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Residency Program at Ajman University is an intensive, three-year postgraduate training program designed to prepare dentists for specialized clinical practice in oral and maxillofacial surgery. The program offers broad clinical exposure to surgical procedures, including extractions, dental alveolar surgery, periapical surgery, pre-prosthetic surgery, facial trauma and orthognathic surgery, implant placement, bone grafting, soft and hard tissue pathologies, facial pain, oral medicine cases, and facial esthetic procedures such as Botox and fillers.

Admission Requirements
- General Admission Criteria
- Bachelor's degree in Dentistry from a university recognized by the UAE Ministry of Education.
- Minimum GPA of 2.7 on a 4.0 scale or equivalent.
- Successful interview and screening process conducted by the Surgical Residency Committee.
- Academic recommendation letter (optional).
- If the degree was earned from a non-English teaching university: TOEFL 550 (PBT), 213 (CBT), or 79 (iBT); or IELTS 6.0.
- Conditional Admission
- GPA between 2.0 and 2.7: Applicants may be accepted on the condition that they achieve a minimum average of 70/100 during the first academic year.
- English Proficiency Deficiency: Candidates may be conditionally admitted and must fulfill the English language proficiency requirements within the first year.
Graduation Requirements
- Successful completion of all clinical and academic modules.
- Fulfillment of the required number and types of surgical cases as specified by the program.
- Passing the Fellowship examination of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh or one of the other Royal Colleges (Glasgow, London, or Ireland).

Professional Expectations
- Full-Time Attendance Mandatory attendance on Fridays and Saturdays, or Saturdays and Sundays, across the three years of residency.
- Professional Conduct Residents must demonstrate a high level of responsibility, professionalism, and ethical behavior throughout the program.
- Respect for UAE Laws & Culture Compliance with UAE regulations and cultural expectations is essential at all times, both in clinical and academic settings.
Fees & Financial Policy
- Annual Tuition: AED 110,250 (inclusive of VAT)
- Payment Schedule:
- 50% of tuition payable before the first semester.
- 50% of tuition payable before the second semester.
- Cheques are accepted for tuition payments.
- File Opening Fees (Non-Refundable): AED 1,575 (Mandatory to submit your application)
