Course Overview
This course is designed to equip students with comprehensive knowledge and critical awareness of contemporary financial principles, theories, and products. It aims to develop ethically minded learners with a deep understanding of the economic, social, and commercial impact of financial decisions within an international context. Students will become autonomous learners with key competencies valuable in employment and self-employment, including teamwork, numeracy, literacy, time management, digital fluency, and oral communication.

Course Information
The BSc in Finance at Coventry Business School is a specialist, vocationally oriented course that seeks to educate and prepare students for a range of careers within the finance professions. The course enables students to examine in-depth critical issues in finance, which are relevant at all times but are of particular interest at a time of turbulence in the global financial markets.

Credit and Notional Hours
A credit
otional hour is the formal name for the estimated hours that a student would need to complete a module. One credit is equal to 10 notional hours, so 20 credits are equal to 200 notional hours. This includes time in lectures, tutorials, preparing for lectures, assessments, as well as personal revision and studying. In reality, students may exceed the predicted hours, especially if their degree requires a lot of independent learning.
Course Review
The course content is regularly reviewed to make it relevant and current for the benefit of students. For these reasons, course modules may be updated.
