Program Overview

The Master's program in Psychological Studies for Children with Special Needs is designed to educate students on how to prepare a distinguished scientific research paper and how to deal with children and adolescents with special needs, from their growth and problems to treatment methods and behavior modification techniques.


Program Characteristics

The program focuses on preparing academic researchers by teaching them how to prepare a Master's thesis according to the scientific methodology in psychological research, and professionally by teaching them how to deal with children and adolescents with special needs and their families, modifying their negative behaviors and imparting various social, cognitive, emotional, and life skills.

  • The study is based on a credit-hour system, with 44 specialized credit hours and 5 elective credit hours over 4 semesters to complete graduation requirements.

Admission Requirements

  • The student must have a Bachelor's or Licentiate degree from one of the following colleges from Egyptian universities or equivalent, with a grade of "Good" or higher, or a diploma from the mentioned colleges with a grade of "Good" or higher for those who have a "Pass" grade in the first university degree.
  • Colleges:
    • Faculty of Arts (Psychology major).
    • Faculty of Education, Faculty of Early Childhood Education, Faculty of Specific Education (Psychology, Childhood, Early Childhood Education, Special Education, and Mental Health departments).

Required Documents

  • Original birth certificate.
  • Original graduation certificate (Bachelor's or Licentiate) or equivalent from the Supreme Council of Universities.
  • Two passport photos.
  • Six personal photos.
  • A letter from the Cultural Attaché regarding the application for admission, specifying who will pay the tuition fees (the student or the Cultural Attaché).
  • Completion of the application form for admission to the college through the General Administration for Admission and Student Grants.
  • AIDS-free certificate.

Application Deadlines

  • Academic programs: from July 1st to March 31st of each year for international students.

Tuition Fees

  • Egyptian student: EGP 530 for file opening + EGP 2389 annual tuition fees.
  • International student: $1500 one-time payment + $4500 annual tuition fees.
