- Learning Outcomes Students will learn relevant theoretical and practical knowledge to support their careers. Courses will be delivered through face-to-face classroom instruction and laboratory. Effective technical communication will be emphasized throughout the program. The student acquires knowledge and skills in irrigation engineering, water management, and irrigated field crops. A total of 137 credit hours will be required to graduate. They will have core and elective courses in Smart Water Engineering Technology. Students can expect to spend an average of 20-25 contact hours per week in class and labs, with additional time spent studying, completing assignments, and doing research.

- Watershed Management Planning: Develop comprehensive watershed management plans that integrate irrigation needs with broader water resource protection and allocation objectives
- Water Quality Monitoring: Design and implement water quality monitoring programs for irrigation sources and receiving waters affected by irrigation return flows
- Policy Implementation: Apply water policy and governance frameworks to irrigation project planning, water allocation decisions, and regulatory compliance
- Drought Management Strategy: Formulate effective drought management strategies for irrigated agriculture that prioritize water uses, minimize impacts, and maintain essential production
- Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitate stakeholder engagement processes in water resource planning for irrigation, incorporating diverse perspectives and managing potential conflicts
- Climate Change Adaptation: Develop climate change adaptation strategies for irrigation systems that address changing water availability, increased crop water demands, and extreme events
