Program Overview
Private Pilot License Program
The Private Pilot License program is designed to provide students with the necessary knowledge and skills to obtain a private pilot license. The program is required under part 141 and includes the following ratings: Airplane single-engine, or Airplane multiengine.
A. Applicability
The Private Pilot License course is applicable to individuals who wish to obtain a private pilot license. The course includes training in aeronautical knowledge areas, flight training, and solo flight training.
B. Eligibility for Enrollment
To be eligible for enrollment in the Private Pilot License program, a person must hold a student pilot license prior to enrolling in the flight portion of the course.
C. Aeronautical Knowledge Training
The program includes at least 35 hours of ground training on aeronautical knowledge areas, which are appropriate to the aircraft category and class rating.
D. Flight Training
The program includes at least 35 hours of flight training, which is appropriate to the aircraft category and class rating.
E. Solo Flight Training
The program includes at least 5 hours of solo flight training. Each student must demonstrate satisfactory proficiency prior to receiving an endorsement to operate an aircraft in solo flight.
F. Checks and End-of-Course Tests
Each student enrolled in the Private Pilot License program must satisfactorily accomplish the stage checks and end-of-course tests in accordance with the school's approved training course, which are appropriate to the aircraft category and class rating for which the course applies.
