The Furniture Design Sciences program is designed to graduate designers with excellence in the professional field of furniture design sciences, production, and social development aspects.

The program mission is to graduate designers with an excellence capable in the professional field of furniture design sciences, production, adept in dealing with industrial problems, and social development aspects.

Program Vision

The program vision is to strive for leadership through education and research in the field of furniture design and production at the local and international levels.

Objectives and Features

The program objectives are to:

• Offer an integrated education environment
• Develop students' academic integrated calibers (theoretic and practical)
• Develop designers' concepts in the field of furniture design to increase competition abilities
• Maintain heritage and origin culture, as well as develop national design concepts and criteria
• Prepare students to deal with different processing technologies, whether traditional or advanced
• Develop scientific research on furniture design and production

The features of the program include:

• A methodology of teaching based on applied and scientific study in the field of furniture design and production
• Cooperation agreements with the most important companies and furniture factories in Egypt
• The ability for program graduates to complete their post-studies for achieving a master's degree or PhD through the post-graduate programs in Interior Design and Furniture Department at the Faculty of Applied Arts, Helwan University, or the equivalent of the same academic degree from other universities in the world
