Program Overview


Vienna BioCenter Summer School 2026

The Vienna BioCenter Summer School is a 9-week research program designed to provide participants with hands-on experience in a professional laboratory setting. Each scholar will be assigned a faculty mentor and a research project, culminating in the analysis of data and presentation of results. The curriculum is supplemented by lab meetings, journal clubs, and scientific lectures.


Program Overview

The program is a collaborative initiative involving the Research Center for Molecular Medicine (CEMM), Gregor Mendel Institute (GMI), Institute of Molecular Biotechnology (IMBA), Institute of Molecular Pathology (IMP), and the Max Perutz Labs.


Eligibility Requirements

  • Academic Status: Current Undergraduate (BA Hons) or Master's (MSc) students.
  • Field of Study: Life Sciences or related disciplines.
  • Academic Progress: Applicants must have completed at least two years of university study by the start of the program.

Financial Support and Benefits
