Program Overview

Introduction to the Industrial Automation Engineering Program

The Industrial Automation Engineering program is a new credit-hour system program that encompasses four specializations: Mechatronics, Robotics, Embedded systems, and Process control. This program is the only one of its kind in Egyptian universities, combining these four precise specializations.

Program Overview

The program aims to prepare specialized engineers in the field of Automation, equipped with high skills to design, operate, and develop control systems and industrial systems using the latest automatic control technologies. This is to meet the needs of factories and companies in this specialty, which is one of the most widespread in Arab and European countries.

Academic Features

  • The program is based on a credit-hour system, which is a universal system followed in all Arab and European countries.
  • The program offers the opportunity to attend other specializations as an auditor, and the student is given a certificate for this.
  • The study period is five years, with a total of 175 credit hours, and the academic year is divided into two main semesters, in addition to an optional summer semester.
  • Students can complete their requirements before the end of the five years, with a minimum of four and a half years to graduate.
  • The student's academic ability determines the maximum number of credit hours they can register for in the main semester, up to 21 credit hours.
  • To obtain a bachelor's degree, the student must complete the 175 credit hours with a cumulative grade of at least 2.
  • The student has the right to re-register for any course they failed, and the maximum grade for the course is B+.
  • Coursework represents 60% of the grade, and the written exam represents 40%.
  • The student can re-study courses they previously passed to improve their cumulative grade, and the grade from the last attempt is counted.

Tuition Fees

  • The cost of one credit hour is 250 Egyptian pounds (approximately 4500 Egyptian pounds per semester for 18 credit hours).
  • 50% of the program's revenue is allocated to laboratories.

Practical Features

  • Students are trained in companies and factories from the beginning of level 1.
  • Protocols of cooperation are being worked on with international companies to train students and provide job opportunities for them.
  • The program allows for the appointment of specialized engineers and faculty members from outside the college to teach some courses.
  • The program's academic regulations are designed to focus on the practical aspect.
  • A committee has been formed to provide job opportunities for graduates in factories and companies.

Graduation Fields

  • Designing mechatronic systems in various factories.
  • Designing and programming robots and robotic arms.
  • Designing mechatronic systems used in medicine and precise surgery.
  • Designing robots and mechanization used in agriculture, food industries, entertainment, and leisure.
