Program Overview


Program Overview

The University of Sohag's College of Science offers a unique program in Hydrogeology, which is the only one of its kind in Egyptian universities. This program focuses on the study of groundwater science and agricultural drainage water, including the inventory of water resources, classification, exploration of groundwater sources, evaluation of groundwater quantities and qualities, and design of water supply wells and other uses.


Program Details

Definition of the Program

The Hydrogeology program is a special program offered by the College of Science at the University of Sohag, with a credit-hour system. The program was approved by the Ministerial Decision No. (2273) on August 31, 2023. It is a four-year undergraduate program, with a minimum of three and a half years or until the student completes 136 credit hours.


Admission Requirements

  • The student must have a high school diploma in the scientific or mathematical branch.
  • Transfer students from similar programs in other Egyptian or foreign universities may be accepted.
  • Students may join the program after completing the first level of the college's original regulations and paying the required fees.

Degree Awarded

The University of Sohag awards a Bachelor of Science degree in Hydrogeology upon completion of 136 credit hours.


Tuition Fees

The annual tuition fees are 10,000 Egyptian pounds, paid in two installments, in addition to the tuition fees.
