Training Program
The University of Suez Canal implemented a specialized training program titled "Scientific Basis for the Manufacture of Fermented Dairy Products" at the Faculty of Agriculture, Department of Dairy Science. The program aimed to support applied training and qualify cadres from inside and outside the university. A total of 27 participants from various specialties benefited from the program.
The program was held under the patronage of Professor Nasser Mandour, President of the University of Suez Canal, and supervised by Professor Dina Abu El-Maati, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development. It was organized by Dr. Rafik Abdel Rahman Mohamed, Chairman of the Department of Dairy Science, with the participation of Dr. Kholoud Ibrahim Blasy, Professor at the Department of Dairy Science, and Dr. Mohamed Ibrahim Mohamed Abu Al-Naja, Assistant Professor at the Department of Food Science.
The program covered various scientific and applied topics related to the manufacture of fermented dairy products, including the basics of dairy industry, from milk preparation to the addition of starter culture, fermentation, cooling, and packaging. The program also included explanations of milk quality tests, including taste, smell, boiling, and coagulation, as well as the production of clean milk through healthy practices in milking animals and methods of manufacturing butter and ghee.
The program was attended by participants from various colleges and departments of the university, including the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Education, Faculty of Commerce, Faculty of Agriculture, and Faculty of Tourism and Hotels, as well as the Directorate of Agriculture and the Directorate of Veterinary Medicine.
The training program was implemented under the supervision of the Director General of Environmental Engineering Projects, Wafaa Imam Ahmed, and the follow-up of the Director of Community Training, Engineer Ahmed Ramadan Saeed.
