Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:


  1. Explain basic accounting concepts and principles, from the accounting equation to the application of the double-entry system.
  2. Prepare and analyze the four primary financial statements, calculate and interpret financial ratios to assess a company's liquidity, indebtedness, profitability, and activity efficiency.
  3. Understand the strategic role of budgets in planning and control, apply different budgeting methodologies, and prepare an integrated annual operating plan that includes sales, production, and cash budgets.
  4. Measure cost behavior (fixed and variable), calculate budget variances to analyze actual performance against planned performance, and evaluate the profitability of production lines and customers using performance measures like Return on Investment (ROI).
  5. Assess the effectiveness of internal control systems and the importance of segregation of duties in protecting company assets, and apply ethical principles and standards for management accountants to address ethical dilemmas and identify fraud.
  6. Develop and implement effective strategies for passing the exam, including time management techniques and question analysis methods, to maximize the chances of success in the FMAA professional certification exam.
