Program Overview
Master of Microbiology and Immunology
The Master of Microbiology and Immunology program is designed to provide students with advanced knowledge and skills in the field of microbiology and immunology.
Duration of Study
The minimum period for obtaining the Master's degree is two years from the date of approval by the Faculty Council for registration. The maximum period for obtaining the Master's degree is five calendar years from the date of registration, taking into consideration any officially approved suspension periods. The registration period may be extended for a maximum of two additional years upon the request of the principal supervisor and with the approval of the concerned Department Council, the Postgraduate Studies and Research Committee, the Faculty Council, and the University Postgraduate Studies and Research Council.
Study System
The total number of credit hours required for the Master's degree is 38 credit hours, consisting of:
- 8 credit hours for preliminary courses
- 12 credit hours for specialized courses in the field of study, including one elective course
- 18 credit hours for the thesis The duration of study for the preliminary and specialized courses is at least one academic year, consisting of two semesters. The study follows the credit hour system, and each semester lasts for 15 weeks, including examinations.
Regulations of the Master's Program in Microbiology and Immunology
The student shall prepare a thesis on a topic determined by the supervisory committee and approved by the concerned Department Council, the Postgraduate Studies and Research Committee, and the Faculty Council.
