Program Overview


Introduction to the University Program

The University Senghor, in partnership with the CIDMEF, the University of Montreal, and the University of Abomey Calavi, is launching a call for applications for a certified training program in "Social Responsibility in Health (SRH)".


Presentation

This training program aims to prepare key health actors to design and implement strategic health plans within their institutions and territories, taking into account social responsibility in health. The program is articulated around six modules and has the objective of reducing social health inequalities.


Target Audience

The training is intended for health actors in a territorial entity, including:


  • Heads of health training and research institutions
  • Hospital directors (public and private)
  • Heads of health research institutions
  • Central (national) directors of human and animal health
  • Regional health directors
  • Heads of health establishments (hospital directors, medical directors, heads of clinical departments, pharmacists, etc.)
  • Political decision-makers at the local, regional, or national level
  • Representatives of regional and international organizations
  • Business leaders or heads of companies
  • Industrial managers
  • Managers of non-state organizations
  • Managers of civil society organizations (CSOs) and the associative world
  • Teachers in health sciences
  • Health professionals

Program Details

The certified training program in Social Responsibility in Health (SRH) will take place in Cotonou, Benin, from November 17 to 22, 2025. The program combines expert interventions, co-construction and collective reflection workshops, and exchange panels with specialized resource persons in Social Responsibility in Health.


Modules

The program consists of six modules:


  1. Social Responsibility in Health - Concepts and Issues: Introduction to social responsibility in health, main concepts, and challenges in the fight against social health inequalities.
  2. Major Principles of Social Responsibility in Health: Common values - equity, solidarity, humanism, quality, and relevance.
  3. Governance, Management, and Leadership in Social Responsibility in Health: Adaptation of local governance to social responsibility in health, leadership, and management for social responsibility in health within the organization/institution.
  4. Strategic Planning Focused on Social Responsibility in Health: Development of a diagnosis in social responsibility in health, definition of strategic orientations, planning, and development of the result chain, monitoring, and evaluation of actions implemented.
  5. Development and Management of Partnerships in Social Responsibility in Health: Identification of key partners, principles of partnership and collaborative work, conflict management, and maintaining partnerships.
  6. Elaboration of a Social Responsibility in Health Plan in the Territories: Putting into practice the knowledge taught - elaboration of a "Social Responsibility in Health" plan in the territories.

Evaluation and Certification

The training will be sanctioned by a certificate of 3 ECTS credits for candidates who have validated all the modules and submitted the required final work. The evaluation methods include quizzes, document analysis, individual or group practical work, and plenary presentations.


Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible, candidates must:


  • Be a key actor in a sector directly or indirectly related to health policy in their territory
  • Have significant professional experience in a position of responsibility
  • Master the French language
  • Hold a position or function of responsibility related to health within their institution or territorial entity

Application and Admission

Candidates must submit an online application, including a detailed CV and a letter of motivation, by November 8, 2025. Only complete applications will be examined, and selected candidates will be notified via email.


Fees and Financial Support

The participation fee is 1000 euros, which is largely covered by third-party organizations. Selected candidates will only need to pay a contribution of 100 euros, covering access to the training, documents, and daily lunches. Travel, accommodation, daily transportation to the training venue, and dinner are at the expense of the candidates.
