Program Overview
Introduction to the Program
The University Senghor, in partnership with the International Organization of the Francophonie (OIF), is launching a call for applications for the second edition of the certified training program on the "Women, Peace, and Security" (WPS) Agenda.
Presentation
The WPS Agenda, formed by eleven UN Security Council resolutions, including the founding resolution 1325 (2000), aims to ensure the active, full, and effective participation of women in conflict prevention, resolution, and post-conflict reconstruction efforts. The OIF supports member states in implementing their commitments under the WPS Agenda.
Objectives
The training program, addressed to national focal points and other experts engaged in operationalizing the WPS Agenda in French-speaking Africa, aims to equip them with the necessary tools for better appropriation and effective implementation of the Agenda.
Competencies
At the end of the training, participants will be able to:
- Understand and adapt the WPS Agenda's normative framework to the African context
- Identify the challenges of the four pillars of the WPS Agenda
- Mobilize stakeholders and other potential actors for the implementation of national action plans
- Promote and advocate for the WPS Agenda as a tool for stability and gender equality in the context of French-speaking Africa
- Master methods and tools for operationalizing and monitoring the implementation of the WPS Agenda at the national level
Pedagogical Modalities
The training program is implemented through an interactive pedagogy oriented towards practical learning. The program consists of 8 modules, delivered in a bimodal system focused on exchange and individualized follow-up.
Target Audience
The training is primarily addressed to:
- National focal points and other experts engaged in operationalizing the WPS Agenda
- Cadres and officials from central administration, civil society, media, and academia
Certification
The training leads to a university certification of 5 credits, awarded by the University Senghor to participants who have validated all 8 modules.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible, candidates must:
- Be from a member country of the OIF
- Hold a bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Have professional experience in a field directly related to the promotion and operationalization of the WPS Agenda
- Justify a minimum B2 level in French or have successfully completed a university education in French
Evaluation Modalities
Participants are evaluated through various methods, including individual and group work, multiple-choice questionnaires, and case studies.
Fees and Funding
The registration fee for the training is 600. A scholarship will be awarded to all selected participants, covering part of the fees.

Interested candidates are invited to submit their application online, including a detailed CV, a motivation letter, a copy of their last diploma, and a certificate of French language proficiency (if applicable).
