The University Senghor, in partnership with the International Organization of the Francophonie (OIF), is launching a call for applications for the second edition of the certified training program on the "Women, Peace, and Security" (WPS) Agenda.

Presentation

The WPS Agenda, formed by eleven UN Security Council resolutions, including the founding resolution 1325 (2000), aims to ensure the active, full, and effective participation of women in conflict prevention, resolution, and post-conflict reconstruction efforts. The OIF supports member states in implementing their commitments under the WPS Agenda.

Objectives

The training program, addressed to national focal points and other experts engaged in operationalizing the WPS Agenda in French-speaking Africa, aims to equip them with the necessary tools for better appropriation and effective implementation of the Agenda.

At the end of the training, participants will be able to:

  • Understand and adapt the WPS Agenda's normative framework to the African context
  • Identify the challenges of the four pillars of the WPS Agenda
  • Mobilize stakeholders and other potential actors for the implementation of national action plans
  • Promote and advocate for the WPS Agenda as a tool for stability and gender equality in the context of French-speaking Africa
