Introduction to the University Program
The University Senghor offers a Diplôme Universitaire de Médecine du Sport, a continuing education program that provides a foundation of knowledge in the field of sports medicine.
Presentation
This program is divided into 4 modules, each covering essential disciplines and clinical disciplines. The objective is to promote the health of athletes, regardless of their level, and to encourage physical and sporting activities as a means of preventing diseases.
Objectives
The program aims to provide doctors and physiotherapists with a foundation of knowledge that will enable them to protect the health of athletes and prescribe physical and sporting activities for individuals with chronic diseases.
Structure of the Program
The program consists of 4 modules:
- Module 1: Physiologie (3 credits)
- Module 2: Médecine et sport (3 credits)
- Module 3: Sport et Santé : prévention primaire et tertiaire (3 credits)
- Module 4: Pathologie de l'appareil locomoteur chez le sportif (3 credits)
Public Target and Career Opportunities
The program is designed for a French-speaking audience, primarily from Africa, who wish to pursue a professional career in sports medicine. Graduates will be able to work in sports clubs and federations in their country.
Pedagogical and Technical Means
The program is delivered online, with permanent tutoring provided by the Université Virtuelle de Médecine du Sport (UVFMS). An exchange space on the course platform allows students to interact with each other and with the tutors.
Evaluations
Each module includes mandatory coursework and a final QCM. The validation of all modules allows students to receive the Diplôme Universitaire de Médecine du Sport from the Université Senghor.
Conditions of Admission
Admission is decided by the program's pedagogical committee after reviewing the application file submitted online.
Cost of the Program
The tuition fees are 670 euros. Payment is a condition of registration and access to the distance learning platform and teacher support.
