Overview
The DiplŰme Universitaire en Sciences des Archives (DUSA) is an international diploma aimed at training professionals in the field of written heritage conservation, particularly archives. It consists of nine modules, with eight online modules covering the documentary heritage of archives, their production, collection, conservation, and valorization. The ninth module includes an intensive internship in the archives services of public institutions, foundations, or companies in France or Africa.
Target Audience
The DUSA is designed for a French-speaking audience, prioritizing Africans, who wish to pursue professional training in the field of archives. The objective of this online training is to facilitate the integration of individuals who face difficulties in accessing university education. The DUSA is of interest to anyone with a professional project related to archives and who wishes to engage in the collection, conservation, communication, and valorization of written heritage.
Program Details
- The program is offered by three partner institutions: Universitť Senghor, …cole Nationale des Chartes, and …cole de bibliothťcaires, archivistes et documentalistes de Dakar.
- These institutions ensure equality and equity among candidates and aim to develop the interest of young generations in archives at all stages of their production and administrative and patrimonial use.
Admission Process
- Application files (motivation letter, CV, copy of diploma) are to be sent and examined according to the following calendar:
- January 4 March 4, 2021: Submission of applications online
- March 21, 2021: Publication of application results
- March 21 May 31, 2021: Finalization of registrations
- The tuition fee for the DUSA is 1000 .
Program Creation
The DUSA was created by three partner institutions as part of actions to develop higher education in Africa, supported by the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs. The partners have pooled their internationally recognized expertise to co-accredit the DUSA.
