College of Science and Arts at Al-Mandaq
The College of Science and Arts at Al-Mandaq was established based on the decision of the Higher Education Council No. (10/50/1429H) issued in the second session on 29/4/1429H. The college has eight academic departments that award a Bachelor's degree:
- Physics
- Chemistry
- Biology
- Mathematics
- Home Economics, which includes two tracks: (Interior Design) and (Fashion Design and Textile Technology)
- Islamic Studies
- Arabic Language
- English Language
Bachelor of Arts in Arabic Language Program
Overview
The Arabic Language is a unique language, being a language of dialogue, a language of a heavenly religion, and a language designated to understand human heritage that has been integrated into the crucible of Arab and Islamic civilization.
Objectives
- Instill the sanctity of the Arabic Language in the hearts of students due to its connection to the Holy Quran, and enhance the spirit of belonging to it and defending it.
- Narrow the gap between society and Classical Arabic.
- Connect students to their original Arab heritage, on the one hand, and support the bonds of Arab identity while benefiting from the data of modern times, on the other hand.
- Prepare graduates with a Bachelor's degree in Arabic Language and Literature, meeting the country's needs in accordance with the labor market.
- Contribute to the development and education of society through voluntary linguistic services, such as free education programs for Arabic speakers and non-speakers, courses for developing linguistic taste and mastering Arabic calligraphy, linguistic correction and orthographic proofreading of advertisements and signs, and providing linguistic consultations.
- Prepare academically qualified cadres for university work by opening a graduate program in the future, God willing.
- Encourage scientific research and provide students with basic skills in writing and mastering it.
- Revive Arab heritage in the sciences of the Arabic Language and its literature, benefiting intellectuals in various countries.
- Participate in programs for developing skill capacities that the university wishes to organize, such as preparing orators, writers, journalists, and others.
Program Outcomes
Mastering various Arabic sciences - language, syntax, morphology, rhetoric, literature, criticism, phonetics, structure, semantics, and construction.
Job Opportunities
- Teaching Arabic in public, private, and university schools.
- Training some other professional cadres, such as journalists, writers, orators, announcers, and news presenters.
- Linguistic correction in various newspapers, magazines, and publishing houses.
- Working in linguistic institutions concerned with collecting the nation's heritage and verifying manuscripts.
- Working in print, audio, and visual media.
