College of Science and Arts at Al-Mandaq

The College of Science and Arts at Al-Mandaq was established based on the decision of the Higher Education Council No. (10/50/1429H) issued in the second session on 29/4/1429H. The college aims to meet the needs of the community and provide qualified scientific competencies. It comprises eight academic departments that offer bachelor's degrees in:

• Home Economics (with tracks in Interior Design and Fashion Design and Textile Technology)

Bachelor of Science in Interior Design Program

Overview

The Bachelor of Science in Interior Design program is an art that deals with the processing of space or area and all its dimensions in a way that utilizes all design elements aesthetically to facilitate work inside the building.

Objectives

The program aims to:

• Prepare specialized cadres in the field of interior design who are qualified to teach and possess the necessary skills for the field.
• Provide a suitable environment for Saudi females to work in the field of developmental research and specialized studies in serving the community in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the field of interior design.
• Develop scientific knowledge and critical thinking skills, as well as analytical skills and creative taste in the field of design.
• Develop the ability to plan and work in groups, and to develop leadership and responsibility among students.
• Work on developing the outputs of the department to become a college of expertise capable of serving the community and developing the environment.
• Develop and encourage the spirit of scientific research among students to use it in serving the community.

The program leads to a Bachelor of Science degree in Home Economics with a specialization in Interior Design.
