University Programs
The university offers a range of programs designed to meet the needs of students and the community. These programs are designed to provide students with the knowledge, skills, and competencies required to succeed in their chosen fields.
Undergraduate Business Programs
The undergraduate business programs are designed to develop the intellectual, professional, and personal competencies of students through principled business education and a commitment to excellence. The programs offered include:
- Accounting: Accounting is one of the most rewarding careers in business and offers the most opportunities with the lowest risk. The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) describes accounting as "The One Degree with 360 Degrees of Possibilities."
- Finance: The future is bright for finance graduates in Saudi Arabia. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has developed many ambitious plans toward achieving its 2030 Vision, transforming the nation's economy from an oil-dependent economy into a more diversified economy.
- Human Resource Management: One of the major challenges facing the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is the shortage of Saudi Human Resources (HR) managers, experts, and professionals. Organizations around the world are increasingly realizing the importance of having a quality workforce as their most critical source of competitive advantage.
- Marketing: The marketing concentration provides students with an analytical and comprehensive understanding of marketing. Students will be able to generate, analyze, interpret, and present marketing information that firms and other organizations need to satisfy and keep customers through the development of marketing strategies.
- Operations & Project Management: With increasingly competitive business environments, corporations are relying on operations and project managers to achieve strategic goals through the effective management of innovative solutions.
Graduate Business Programs
The Master of Business Administration (MBA) program is designed to meet the specific needs of the KSA business community. The program requires the same eight core courses plus a minimum of six elective courses. The MBA program offers several concentrations designed to meet the specific needs of the business community.
Internship Program
The internship program is designed to provide business students with practical, on-the-job experiences that can contribute to their academic and career development. The program is mandatory for all undergraduate students and must be completed during the 7th semester. Students must complete 4 months (600 hours) of internship work, equivalent to 9 credits. The internship process involves several steps, including:
- Registration for the internship
- Submission of CVs and transcripts
- Meeting with the Internship Office Manager to discuss internship requirements and pre-requisites
- Application to suitable companies for placement
- Interview and hiring process
- Orientation at the end of the 6th semester
- Registration for the internship by filling out an E-form
- Allocation of a faculty member as an Academic Advisor
- Completion of a Statement of Objectives and learning objectives
- Site visits and progress reports
- Evaluation of the intern's performance
- Preparation of a final report and presentation
Executive Education
The Centre for Executive Education at Alfaisal University College of Business is designed to serve the community and attend to the professional development needs of individuals and organizations. The centre's mission is to build leadership qualities in the workplace.
Research Areas
The university is involved in various research areas, including business, management, and economics. The research is designed to contribute to the development of the community and the economy.
Program Requirements
The program requirements include:
- Completion of 96 credit hours before starting the internship
- Completion of the internship during the 7th semester
- Registration for the internship by filling out an E-form
- Allocation of a faculty member as an Academic Advisor
- Completion of a Statement of Objectives and learning objectives
- Site visits and progress reports
- Evaluation of the intern's performance
- Preparation of a final report and presentation
