1. Course Description
This course is designed to provide an understanding of traditional and contemporary product costing and pricing methods, including examination of accounting practices to record and control material, labor, and overhead costs, and Activity Based Costing (ABC). The course also covers break-even analysis, cost-benefit analysis, performance measurement, and companies' financial statements, as well as analysis of variance for standard costs.
2. Course Main Objective
The aim of this course is to provide students with an understanding of the production cost elements as well as the fundamental principles of cost control systems in manufacturing and services enterprises. Topics include cost measurement and cost control, cost-volume-profit analysis, job costing, activity-based costing, flexible budgeting and variance analysis, management control systems, and inventory costing and management.
