College of Science

The College of Science offers a bachelor's degree program in Microbiology, which includes a course in Industrial Microbiology.

Industrial Microbiology Course

The Industrial Microbiology course is a compulsory and advanced course in the study plan of the bachelor's degree program in Microbiology. It focuses on the large-scale application of microorganisms to produce commercially valuable bioproducts. In this course, students learn the fundamentals of industrial microbiology through the study of microbial growth regulation, screening techniques, and fermentation. Students also explore microbial bioproducts such as yeasts, alcohols, glycerol, and organic acids, as well as steroid biotransformation and production of antibiotics.
