The university offers various programs, including a workshop titled "Designing Electronic Books and Magazines." This workshop was held under the patronage of Professor Dr. Abdel Aziz Qanswa, President of the University of Alexandria, and Professor Dr. Hani Khames Ahmed Abdou, Dean of the Faculty of Arts. The workshop was supervised by Dr. Amani Al-Ramadi, a professor in the Department of Libraries and Information at the Faculty of Arts.
Workshop Objectives
The objective of the workshop was to equip trainees with knowledge and skills about digital methods suitable for designing electronic books and magazines, in addition to training them on designing interactive electronic books and magazines.

The workshop covered the following topics:
- Introduction to electronic books and magazines
- Overview of the most popular software that helps design electronic books
- Introduction to open-source software that assists in designing electronic magazines
- Introduction to the most popular software for designing interactive magazines and books
- Practical training on designing electronic and interactive books and magazines for both adults and children
Software Used
The trainees used various software, including:
- Genial.ly
- Madmagz
- Visme
- Calamťo These software tools have numerous capabilities for designing various items beyond books and magazines, such as resumes, promotional brochures, video presentations, certificates of appreciation, and more.
Conclusion
The workshop concluded with a recommendation from Dr. Amani Al-Ramadi to the trainees to benefit from these software tools and applications, while being cautious not to fall into the risks associated with the internet. She also emphasized the importance of preserving intellectual property rights for the owners of images, software, and other sources available on the internet. Dr. Dina Al-Kurdi advised the trainees to practice what they learned to increase their experience and to explore more beneficial software.
