The program in question is the Teaching of Physical Education and Sports program at the College of Sports Science, Aboukir.
Program Objectives
The program aims to provide a graduate capable of:
- Understanding the role of physical education: educational, psychological, and social, and its importance in building society.
- Applying knowledge and information of basic sciences and sciences related to the sports field.
- Performing skills of sports activities and applying safety and health requirements in the practice environment.
- Designing and applying sports programs and units.
- Using information technology and modern techniques to support and improve the practice environment and mastering the necessary linguistic skills to deal with them, to face various future challenges in the sports field.
- Using effective communication skills that contribute to understanding the needs of target groups to enhance and develop them and deal with different cultures.
- Following the scientific approach to solving problems and following up on new developments in the sports field and continuous learning.
- Understanding the organizational structures of the sports movement at the local and international levels.
- Practicing creative and innovative thinking.
- Applying the ethics and etiquette of the profession and the practical understanding of citizenship.
- Conveying sports information, knowledge, and skills to students in different educational stages.

Program Requirements
- The student must study a number of compulsory and elective courses according to the college's study plan in general and the program chosen by the student in particular.
- The program consists of four levels, with a specific number of compulsory and elective courses for each level.
Course Distribution
The distribution of courses across the four levels is as follows:
- Level 1: 16 compulsory college courses, 2 elective college courses, and 18 total courses.
- Level 2: 14 compulsory college courses, 2 elective college courses, 2 compulsory specialization courses, and 18 total courses.
- Level 3: 6 compulsory college courses, 3 compulsory specialization courses, 2 elective specialization courses inside the department, 2 elective specialization courses outside the department, 1 field training course, and 14 total courses.
- Level 4: 2 compulsory college courses, 3 compulsory specialization courses, 2 elective specialization courses inside the department, 2 elective specialization courses outside the department, 1 field training course, and 10 total courses.
Academic Load
- The minimum number of credited hours allowed for a student to register in the fall and spring semesters is 12 credited hours.
- The maximum number of credited hours allowed for a student to register in the fall and spring semesters is 18 credited hours, which can be increased to 20 credited hours for students who achieve a cumulative average of no less than 3.333 or for graduation cases.
- For the summer semester, the maximum number of credited hours allowed for a student to register is 9 credited hours.
