Program Overview

Introduction to the Sustainable and Renewable Energy Engineering Program

The Sustainable and Renewable Energy Engineering program is a specialized field of study that belongs to the control engineering and electrical engineering subfield. It is pursued through the credit hour system and is a link between several engineering branches concerned with the process of designing, installing, operating, and maintaining renewable energy systems.

Program Overview

The program includes the different methods and systems used to generate energy from sustainable sources, distribute that energy, and use it in different environments. Its efficiency, performance factor, economic feasibility, and comparison of these stations with traditional generating stations in terms of their basic cost impact on the environment and their continuity are all key aspects of the program.

Renewable and Sustainable Energy Engineering (RSEE) Program

The RSEE program enables graduates to acquire the necessary skills to design, implement, and operate renewable energy plants such as solar energy, wind energy, and other renewable energy sources. This is achieved through a theoretical study of renewable energy engineering and practical application in laboratories equipped for this purpose, in addition to field visits to projects on the ground.

Program Goals

The RSEE program aims to:

  • Provide an overview of the fundamental relationships in the renewable energy sector
  • Apply knowledge gained in the professional field
  • Enable the graduate to independently identify new tasks

Unique Features

One of the unique features of the RSEE program is that the departments of Mechanical Power Engineering, Production Engineering, Mechanical Design, and Electrical Power Engineering, as well as the Department of Energy Control at the Faculty of Energy Engineering, Aswan University, will be in charge of the program. This ensures that graduates are well-prepared during their studies by professors from these departments to carry out their future responsibilities.

Work Fields

A graduate of the Renewable and Sustainable Energy Engineering program can work in the following areas:

  • Solar power plants and their uses
  • Wind power plants and their uses
  • Hydroelectric power plants
  • Conventional power generation stations
  • Electric power transmission and distribution companies
  • The field of energy saving and rationalization
  • Water desalination field
  • Petroleum companies, iron factories, petrochemicals, and other industries
  • Contracting companies, engineering consultancy offices, and designs
  • Field of graduate studies and research

Course Map

The program includes a comprehensive course map that outlines the renewable energy academic courses, providing a structured approach to learning.

By focusing on the theoretical and practical aspects of renewable and sustainable energy engineering, the program equips graduates with the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in this rapidly evolving field.
