Program Overview
Materials Engineering and Design
The Department of Materials Engineering and Design is a branch of mechanical engineering concerned with the design and manufacture of industrial products. This field goes beyond the design and automation of machines and production lines, incorporating methods and systems for controlling them, including programmable logic control systems, open-loop control systems, and closed-loop systems using electrical or electro-hydraulic control systems or electro-pneumatic, driven by hydraulic power fluids and working by compressed air.
Objectives
The Department of Materials Engineering and Design aims to provide graduates with the ability to:
- Solve big problems in the field of production engineering, design, or any other field as employees in the public or private sector
- Contribute worthily as members of engineers or other problem-solving teams and effectively communicate within the team and to clients
- Advance in their careers, including increased responsibilities and leadership roles
- Engage in continuous learning, whether in the official program they graduated from or by participating in professional conferences and educational programs
- Deal responsibly when making professional and personal decisions, serving as an example to those around them
- Continue their education in leading postgraduate programs in specialized engineering fields to graduate researchers and experts
- Assume leadership and leadership positions
