Overview
The mission of the Bachelor of Science in Human Resource Management program at KFUPM is to produce graduates who will play leading roles in managing and leading organizations they work for and function effectively in HR-related positions in a variety of contexts both locally and globally.
Description
The program focuses on producing leaders that can have a local and international impact. This is in line with KFUPM's mission, which is to make a difference within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and beyond in the fields of sciences, engineering, and business.
Program Educational Objectives
The undergraduate program of Bachelor of Science (BS) in Human Resource Management is designed to graduate students who are expected to attain the following Program Educational Objectives (PEOs) within a few years of graduation:
- Ability to communicate business ideas effectively both orally and in writing.
- Ability to function effectively as a member or leader of a team in performing group tasks in business and professional organizations.
- Ability to apply logic and exercise sound judgment in making decisions (reflective thinking).
- Ability to understand, analyze, and use quantitative data to make business decisions and/or solve business problems (Analytical and quantitative skills).
- Ability to recognize, understand, and evaluate ethical issues in business situations.
- Ability to use information technology as a business enabler.
- Ability to take initiative, show confidence, and exercise leadership in business and professional organizations (Leadership skills).
- Awareness and understanding of cultural issues that impact business operations in a global society (Multicultural and Diversity Understanding).
- Ability to apply functional area concepts and theories appropriately (HRM-Specific Knowledge).
- HRM graduates will master the principles, concepts, policies, guidelines, and procedures needed for measuring and analyzing information for effective decision-making, and for implementing and controlling plans for effective and efficient performance at the individual, team, and overall organizational levels.
Student Outcomes
By the time of graduation, Human Resource Management (BS) students will have the ability to:
- Identify leadership principles and problem-solving techniques.
- Identify principles and concepts related to data-driven decision-making approaches.
- Explain basic concepts, theories, and contemporary industry/societal practices in HRM.
- Effectively communicate their thoughts and ideas through oral communication.
- Prepare complete, clear, and concise written reports conveying complex information effectively.
- Drive innovation and effective change through creative problem-solving and identifying growth opportunities.
- Use critical thinking and problem-solving skills to make sound business decisions that consider immediate and future implications.
- Analyze and interpret relevant data to make informed decisions in various business situations.
- Analyze HRM problems and develop appropriate plans/strategies for addressing them.
- Work effectively in a collaborative and inclusive team to achieve common goals.
- Identify potential ethical and sustainability frameworks to develop effective solutions.
- Identify sustainability and ethical issues and apply these as lenses in developing HRM solutions.

Admission Requirements
SAT Track
- The applicant must be a high school graduate (General, Computer Science and Engineering, Health and Life) or international school graduate (Natural Sciences) in the current year or the previous year.
- A minimum SAT score of 1350 is required to apply.
- SAT scores must be directly sent to King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals from the SAT Test Center.
Early Admission Track
- Students must be Saudi nationals or Non-Saudi with a Saudi mother.
- The student must currently be in the final year of high school.
- An English language proficiency test is mandatory, with a minimum score of 55 in the STEP test or its equivalent in TOEFL or IELTS.
- Apply for the KFUPM early admission test arranged by the Qiyas Center.
Regular Admission Track
- The applicant must be a high school graduate (General, Computer Science and Engineering, Health and Life) or international school graduate (Natural Sciences) in the current year or the previous year.
- The student must submit a General Aptitude Test (Qudrat) score and an Achievement Test (Tahisili) score.
- The student must submit an English language test and obtain a score of 55 or above in the STEP test or its equivalent in the TOEFL or IELTS tests.
Olympiad Winners Admissions Track
- The applicant must be a high school graduate (General, Computer Science and Engineering, Health and Life) or international school graduate (Natural Sciences) in the current year or the previous year.
- Students should be Saudi nationals or non-Saudis with a Saudi mother.
- Students must be high school graduates (Natural Sciences) in the current year or the previous year.
- The student should have achieved a winning position in specified International Olympiad competitions.
Fees and Funding
- Saudi Nationals or With Saudi Mothers: No fees are charged.
- Non-Saudi (local): 10,000 SAR per academic year, 5,000 SAR per semester (approximately 2,666 USD).
Scholarships/Sponsorships
KFUPM is committed to attracting and supporting the very best students, with a focus on nurturing talent and ability. Scholarships and bursaries are available to support students, regardless of their financial circumstances.
Admission Procedures
- Fill out the application for admission to the university.
- Applications are available online only.
- The university will receive the results of the secondary school from the Ministry of Education and the results of the General Aptitude Test and Achievement Test from the National Center for Measurement and Evaluation (QIYAS).
- After registration, students will receive a confirmation message via email and mobile.
- Students must obtain a certificate from the school they have enrolled in, attested by the Ministry of Education.
- Non-Saudi students from Saudi mothers are treated as Saudi students in terms of university admission procedures.
